Thrifty White operates in six states in the Midwest, focusing primarily on its pharmacy business and associated drug store operations. Thrifty White’s innovations in health care and pharmacy prompted Chain Drug Review to select it as Regional Drug Chain of the Year. Thrifty White has a total of 99 locations across six states, comprising 92 retail stores, two central-fill facilities, and 5 long-term-care locations. The company’s chief operations officer, Tim Weippert, says Thrifty White’s Healthy Outcomes format seeks to provide pharmacy teams with enhanced spaces to engage in patient care. He says, “The design goal was to be patient-centric, with a focus on driving outcomes through more direct accessibility to the pharmacy team through additional clinical suites.” For example, the addition of Ask Your Pharmacist stations and enhanced pickup and drop-off areas help drive additional clinical service offerings for patients. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 15,000 additional patients have enrolled in Thrifty White’s Rx MedSync, and the company relaunched its Personalized-Medication Adherence and Persistence Program. Thrifty White also partnered with RxE2’s clinical trial platform and its new E2 Dispensing service, which leverages the clinical expertise of local pharmacists to deliver simple, high-quality, and cost-effective services for clinical trials based on one-on-one patient care relationships.
